Fast And Reliable Broadband For care Homes

A reliable internet service helps care home employees communicate and connect with external healthcare workers. It also contributes to the easy storage and access of healthcare records, ensuring residents receive timely treatment.

Your broadband needs depend on the size of your facility, its location, and internet usage.

To find the broadband that best fits your needs, consider the following services offered by MID Digital Solutions:

  • Single Order Generic Ethernet Access (SOGEA)

  • Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)

  • Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC)

  • Leased Lines

SOGEA (Single Order Generic Ethernet Access)

SOGEA eliminates the need for traditional phone lines to connect to the internet.

It uses optic fibre and copper cables to transfer data. Optic fibre broadband converts data into light signals, increasing the speed of information transfer and allowing for almost immediate data exchange. Once this conversion takes place, the data enters your care home premises via copper wiring.

SOGEA broadband technology has the following benefits:

  • Impressive upload and download speeds

  • Easy to install and maintain

  • Cost-effective

  • Quality connectivity

FTTP  (Fibre to the Premises)

FTTP does not need copper cabling to function and delivers data to care homes via fibre optic cabling, boasting faster broadband speeds.

An FTTP setup feeds information from your internet service provider’s server via this cabling. The wiring leads directly into your internet router, without the need for copper wiring. This leads to faster internet speeds and improves your connection’s reliability.

FTTP systems provide better data security, ensuring residents’ digital care records and treatment data are kept confidential.

FTTC  (Fibre to the Cabinet)

FTTC is another broadband technology that combines optic fibre and copper cabling.

With FTTC, fibre cables feed information from your ISP’s servers to a local street cabinet. From here, copper cabling transmits the data to your care home. Though offering relatively impressive speeds, the copper wiring may cause a reduction in the speed and quality of your care home’s connection.

FTTC is often the more affordable internet option for many care facilities. It is widely available in the UK and boasts easy installation and maintenance.

Leased Lines

Leased lines offer a secure internet connection between two or more business premises, making it ideal for care homes with multiple locations. This line feeds directly to your facility and its various off-site clinics, meaning you won’t contend with other businesses for bandwidth.

It uses ultrafast full-fibre broadband to transmit data at high speed. This setup ensures high-quality information delivery and enhanced security. It also offers symmetrical upload and download speeds.

A leased line service ensures:

Easy access to treatment records and solutions

Uninterrupted communication with caregivers and healthcare professionals

What Our Clients Say About Us

Every MID Digital Solutions client knows their worth and receives the service and support they deserve.

Here’s why hundreds of our clients recommend us:

“We been with Mid Digital for 18 months now and have always found them to give the highest level of service. The transition from our previous provider was very smooth with any issues being dealt with promptly and efficiently. I find the ability to have shared data and call time across all our numbers extremely beneficial and this was not available from our previous provider, so we have received better service at a reduce cost by going with Mid Digital. If I have any issues, I feel confident I can either ring or email them and I will get a prompt and useful response, again this wasn’t the case with my previous provider.”
